WHO WE ARE
unlearn/relearn in community
Reductive Reasoning is an online educational platform focusing on natural wine from Eastern/Central Europe and from displaced and colonized peoples. We aim to breathe new life into antiquated paradigms of learning through the creation of a self-paced course curriculum covering historical and political context, winemaking techniques and practices, regions and varietals, as well as basics of viticulture and fermentation. Our mission is to present knowledge that has typically been omitted from traditional wine education by focusing on key points of origin: what wine is, where wine comes from, and how it got to us in the here and now.
Wine serves as a vessel for community building. We focus on lateral systems of education, emphasizing peership, accessibility, and equitable knowledge sharing. Reductive Reasoning strives to foster authentic connections between wine professionals and enthusiasts alike. Regardless of level of experience or expertise, wine should be an agent of unification and celebration.
Our goal is to center 2sqlgbt+ bipoc wine professionals by offering access to our curriculum at a sliding scale.
